This year the 8th Architects Sailing Regatta was taking place on the lake Balaton. The founders of the race aim was to create such an event which roots in the past, and facing the future, build up a tradition is well worth to the architects society, a corporate event to found a new civil life and value.
We all know well, that sailing is not far from architects; there were several collagues who were did this amazing technical sport int he past, as in the present; beside others Alvar Aalto, Norman Foster, Renzo Piano and John Pawson had designed a sailing boat.

This year the freshly established V4 foundation was the main organizer, so similary to the first Regatta in 2008 all the presidents and formar presidents of the polish, slovak, and czech Architecture Association were taking part to lift the dignity of the event, and also to place it in the international space.

After the Saturday morning skipper session all together 20 yahts had left the BL marina to start the race towards to Keszthely. The weather all the way long was nice and sunny, the yachts get far from each other soon in the changing wind, the racing boats had become in the front followed by the others. Finally everyone had met in Keszthely Phoenix yacht port after everyone had completed the distance within the limit. The hole company moved from here to the Festetics-Helikon cactle’s baroque ballroom to close the 2015 Regatta on the gala night.

In this context the main sponzor KÉSZ CSOPORT had served a three dishes diner for the guests and the award giving ceremony had started. During the gala we have heard the greeting words from our foreign guests, the speach of the vice mayor of Keszthely and the Regatta founder Kálmán Ernő. Beside everyone had the chance to see the pictures of the race on the videoscreens.

There were well known collegues on the professionally organized event, including Noll Tamás. The former president of the Chamber of the Hungarian Architects, Kálmán Ernő, the former president of the Association of the Hungarian Architects, Göde András and Kovács Csaba teachers of MOME, Stocker György architect. This was the first time when the members of the BME student’s council were take part, who with their presence are representing the next generation.

Thank you for the supporters with their help they had made it possible, and thank you for the growing number of the participants, that they had voted for the event. We see you on the 9th Architects’ Sailing Regatta!

VIII. Építész KÉSZ  Regatta beszámoló

Idén nyolcadik alkalommal rendezték meg a mára hagyományosnak számító Építész Regattát a Balatonon. Szeptember 11-13. között a Balatonlellétől Keszthelyig tartó versenyen a hazai építésztársadalom szereplői képviseltették magukat. A regatta a KÉSZ Csoport fő támogatásával valósult meg.

Az első balatoni vitorlásegyletet Eszterházy Mihály alapította, amelynek klubházát Hauszmann Alajos építész tervezte több mint 100 évvel ezelőtt, a vitorlázás ezért is áll ilyen közel az építészekhez. A VIII. Építész Regatta ennek a hagyománynak állított emléket.

A versenyre benevezett közel 20 hajó, összesen 100 főnyi legénységével szombaton reggel 9 órakor futott ki a balatonlellei Bavaria Yachtclub kikötőjéből. A befutó a keszthelyi Phoenix kikötőben volt, ahová késő délutánra az összes hajó megérkezett. Az esti díjkiosztó gálán Keszthely alpolgármestereköszöntötte a versenyzőket. A díjátadó előtt Kálmán Ernő, az Építész Regatta alapítója köszöntötte a megjelenteket, beszédében az építész társadalom összefogását és a verseny összetartó erejét emelte ki.

A VIII. Építész-KÉSZ-Regatta résztvevő között kiemelt vendégként jelen voltak Visegrádi Négyeképítészeti alapítvány külföldi képviselői és BME Építészmérnöki Karának Hallgatói Önkormányzata, akikkülön hajóval is indultak. A KÉSZ Csoport főtámogatásával megvalósult rendezvény kiemelkedőközösségépítő erővel bírt az építész-szakma képviselőinek körében.
